6 ) Uyghur Autonomous Region Ranked 25 in China In Average Income Rating

The Urumchi Evening News newspaper published recently figures for the last year of the average annual income per farmer households. According to the statistics, average per capita income in Eastern Turkistan in 2001 equaled 1,710.4 Yuan. This figure is much below the average all-China indicator, 2,336.4 Yuan. Xinjiang is ranked in the 25th place according to these figures in China. The Eastern Turkistan farmers have been positioned in this poverty rating for 6 years in a row.
