The population of Eastern Turkistan fall victims of the
Chinese policy of developing the Western part of China.
The 1st army division and ethnic Chinese arriving from
inner China confiscate belongings of the local
inhabitants of Aqsu city. The Chinese migrants have
taken all key posts in the financial, commercial,
administrative posts; they all also take an unfair
advantage over the locals – in regards of taxation, and
other points. The 1st army division backs up the Chinese
migrants injustices.
The Chinese regime forces Uighur farmers of the
Uchturpan and Kelpin regions to raise cotton and pay
them meager price for a hard work. Among these farmers
who work in the fields like slaves there are many old
men and women of the age of 70-80, children, and young
mothers. All them have to pick up cotton in a hot
weather for their Chinese masters. The region government
though stresses out that this work would improve the
economy of the region and the overall well being of the
farmers.
The ethnic Chinese took under their control all trade
centers, shops, cafeterias, and all small businesses.
They rule in administrative offices over the Uighurs.
Using the general requirement for cleanness as a pretext,
the Chinese bosses force their Uighur servants to sweep
the streets in the hot weather 8 hours a day in a
non-stop mode. If a worker takes some rest, the Chinese
bosses put monetary penalties on them and discriminate
in any possible ways. The Uighurs have to clean all
dirty places. The ethnic Chinese mainly arrive from
Shanghai and Henan regions, for working in schools. Most
of them remain here and they easily get substantial
administrative benefits. The Chinese settlers who work
in schools get financial support, and they also take
under their control all trade and commerce centers. The
Chinese migrants take advantage of the various official
government support and buy out shares of plants,
buildings, trade centers and supermarkets and so on. The
settlers cause with their production activities major
damages to the environment. In Aqsu region, Onsu
district, the famous Qirmish Atam wild nature resort has
been renamed in a Chinese manner and was opened to the
tourist visits.
The Chinese dared to rename these sacred places. The
Chinese guides, girls and young women dressed in Uighur
national dresses welcome tourists into the sacred area
which was turned into the commercial entertainment place
with cafeterias, attractions, and became a center of
promiscuity. In the places of cemeteries the Chinese
masters built up mineral water production factories.
They bottle the mineral spring water and sell it to
customers. Many Uighurs who come to visit Qirmish Ata
cemetery could not afford buying expensive admission
tickets and had to leave the place. The Chinese
authorities grant all possible favors to the ethnic
Chinese entrepreneurs and give them access to all key
market locations. Inside the city the regular Uighur
Shangang bazaar fell into the control of the Chinese
shop owners. Recently built Landaw, Zhungya, Esir’haulin
and Tinglung trade centers with the shops on all levels
were opened for certain Chinese businessmen. The Chinese
masters do not let the Uighurs also use these center
facilities for their business. The Chinese
administration has destroyed the Uighur quarters such as
Qizil kowruk, Wangshan streets, and Leng’ger district
near Shangang market on the pretext of cleaning the city.
The Chinese administration simply moved out the whole
Uighur population from their homes. The land lots were
sold at high prices. The Uighur owners of households
located near the new market centers could not protest.
They had no choice but to agree to move to the far away
places, to their allotted land lots. Their houses were
crushed down. The Uighurs generally fall victims of the
dirty Chinese policies of ethnic cleansing. Some Uighurs
serve as mere marionettes at the official ceremonies,
meetings where they cut ribbons and approve all the
decisions of their Chinese masters. However, the
majority of Uighurs suffer discrimination on a daily
basis.
The Chinese regime oppresses the Uighurs to a greater
degree from day to day. They deprive Uighurs of the last
piece of bread; they behave as invaders in this dear
city. This causes moral suffering to every patriotic
Uighur who loves his or her dear Motherland. This city
is losing its national spirit and its oppressed
population only hopes for the God Almighty’s help and
relief.
