The Chinese
regime halted publications of several newspapers and
journals under the pretext of ‘cleansing and
confiscating illegal publications”
Our correspondent Tomur Choqqi reports from Urumchi:
On March 28 the City Cultural Affairs department
together with the city Public Security office gathered
on the Dongshen waste collection territory a number of
books, journals, magazines and yellow press materials.
These all were qualified as “the illegally published
publications” and burned down. According to our
correspondent, though some materials were illegally
published and distributed and were “of the yellow press
nature”, most of the burned materials were really “the
nationalist ethnic separatist” publications. The Chinese
circles burned the books and journals because they
believed that it caused ‘a threat to the national
security.” |
