9 ) Chinese authorities are trying to widen a transport system in Eastern Turkestan
According to the information got by "Eastern Turkestan Information Center", the Chinese government has worked out some new projects to widen transport system in Eastern Turkestan. The road linking Urumchi with Kashgar by 2005 would be turned into high-quality highway, by the year 2010 it would be connected with Hotan. The Railway through Turugart pass would be connected with the railways of Kyrgystan, Kazkhstan and Uzbekistan. As you know well, one of the main obstacles for intensive exploitation of the natural wealth of Eastern Turkestan is shortage of good transport system, so the Chinese government under the slogans "to open the North-Wets" and "to develop Xinjiang" is trying to fill this lack in transport system.
