4 ) Surveillance during Ramada

According to information received by "Eastern Turkestan Information Center" directly from Eastern Turkestan, during the Holy Ramadan month the Chinese authorities extremely strengthened surveillance in Eastern Turkestan. During Ramadan there were a lot of professional and non-staff informers in all places including villages, offices, organizations, plants, schools across the region. These shameless informers were looking everywhere and informing their Chinese master accusing innocent Uygur people exercising their religious duties within frames determined officially and by doing this brought devastation to the innocent people. For example, in early Ramadan month informers of the Hotan pedagogical college spied on the employees of the college exposed 16 Uygurs who were fasting and informed administration about them. In the result administration of he college deprived them of 2 months salaries, the former pensioners being among them were deprived of one-month payment. Some teacher who tried to explain that fasting and worshipping did not contradict to the laws of the State including the Constitution of China and the "Law on the national autonomy" declaring and guaranteeing religious belief were strictly punished.
