Text of report entitled "Zhang Qiyue says opposing
the 'East Turkestan' terrorist force is a part of The
international anti-terrorism struggle" by Chinese news
agency Zhongguo Xinwen She
Beijing, 15 November: Chinese Foreign Ministry
spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said at today's news
conference here that the "East Turkestan" terrorist
force is a part of the international terrorist force
and opposing the "East Turkestan" terrorist activities
is a part of the international anti-terrorism struggle.
Zhang Qiyue said that the "East Turkestan" force is a
force that has engaged in terrorist activities in
China's Xinjiang over a long time. In the past several
years, it has created a large number of terrorist
incidents, such as explosion, kidnapping, poisoning,
murder and robbery, causing heavy casualties of
innocent people and enormous loss of property. This
has aroused great public indignation. China has a
great deal of conclusive evidence to prove that the
"East Turkestan" force has engaged in terrorist
activities. The action programmes of many "East
Turkestan" organizations clearly state that it is
necessary to carry out violent activities against
China, and these organizations have close ties with
the international terrorist forces.
Zhang Qiyue said that China is one of the earliest
countries that has fallen a victim to terrorism and is
also one of the earliest countries that has taken firm
actions against terrorism. China has taken a
consistent and clear stand on this issue. She said
that fighting the "East Turkestan" force is a part of
the international anti-terrorism struggle. China is
ready to cooperate with the international community to
continue to crack down on terrorist activities.
Besides, Zhang Qiyue also pointed out that the
Xinjiang people have expressed their full
understanding and support to the Chinese government in
taking actions to crack down on the terrorist force.
