Uyghurs should not be the victims
of the terrorist’s attacks

In the recent years the communist Chinese Government
tried to oppressed the Uyghur national liberation
movement in Eastern Turkistan by using two tactics –
in one repressing hard this movement, and on the other
hand by portraying Uyghurs struggling for their
independence as the “terrorists”, “splitist” and
“religious extremists”.
This time since the terrorist’s attacks in America and
the beginning of the American military campaign
against Taliban regime in Afghanistan Chinese
authorities have intensified their crackdown on Uyghur
people.
For instance, according to the reliable information
obtained from the Motherland, on September 24th, in
Shayar district of Eastern Turkistan, nine (9) Uyghur
were on trial on false political charges of involving
in “terrorist activities” and “spreading religious
extremism”. One of the accused, Erkin Talip, was
sentenced to death and executed later that day. The
others were sentenced to the various imprisonments. On
September 25th, during the open trial in Kashgar city,
48 Uyghur were sentenced to the various imprisonments
on political charges.
Again, on October 15th, in Guldja city, during the
trial of the Ili district, Abduhilil Abdujimit,
Abdujimit Adburahman and six other Uyghur sentenced to
death. Musa Yaqup and two more were sentenced to the
life term imprisonments. They were, in fact, are
active participants and organizers of the “February 5
incident in Guldja”. And in fact one among those
sentenced was Adbuhilil Abdujimit, who was already
tortured and killed in Chinese prison a year ago!
The Chinese Authorities have labeled a peaceful
organizers and participants of this demonstration as
the “ terrorists”, “splitist trying to breakdown
country” and sentenced them to a death. After the
events of September 11th, Chinese Authorities used
America’s led fight against terrorism as a pretend to
intensified its repression on Uyghur whom it
portraying as “terrorists” and “religious extremists”.
For example, not long after the September 11th events,
China had put forward its demands in supporting
military action against Afghan Talibans for America in
“understanding and accepting the pressure on Uyghurs”.
As on Collin Powel’s State Secretary’s visit last week
to China, the Chinese authorities specifically stated
on independence movements of Uyghur as a “terrorist”
movement and claimed all democratic Uyghur
organizations as “terrorist one” and had linked these
organizations with those under Taliban protection. The
authorities have asked American conter-partner to view
their fight against Uyghur as the struggle against
terrorism but not human rights in Eastern Turkistan
and had sought support in it.
The spokesman of the Chinese Ministry of the External
Affairs Mr.Sunishi, on the conference given on October
14 have stated openly that ”Uyghur separatism in
Xinjiang are the terrorist movements, which threats
not only the security of China, but Central Asian
states as well. Therefore we demand international
community to support and help us in our campaign
against Uyghur separatism”.
It is obvious that the Chinese Government wants to use
the global fight against the international terrorism
as a pretend in its terror against Uyghur. This of
course worries us Uyghurs. Because we, Uyghur, are not
terrorist, but the nation struggling for its
independency. We choose the peaceful means and
democracy in pursuing our goal and denounced the use
of violence. And therefore we regret any use of
extremism and terrorism. But unfortunately, we are
weak and have not succeeded to acknowledge our claim
to the world community. In this situation, we are
worried that the Chinese false claims on getting
support from America and its western allies in
crackdown on Uyghurs as the fights against terrorism
might be achieved and it will not be beneficial for
the coalition fighting with the real terrorism.
Because the fight against terrorism is the fight for
values such as - human rights, democracy and peace.
And this fight is not the fight against the oppressed
nations struggling for its national independence and
rights under the colonial regime of China. The real
fight against terrorism will actually lead to the
liberation of the oppressed nations and will
definitely achieve its goals!
