LARGE MOSQUE DEMOLISHED IN QARAQASH DISTRICT On October 9, about 100 people from the local government of Qaraqash District, Hotan Prefecture, the committee on religious affairs, and Public Security demolished a large mosque called "Doeng Meschit" despite the discontent of local residents. The authorities explained that the mosque was destroyed because of its proximity to an elementary school.
