China is in trade with America over
Uyghurs

September 11 events in America have brought new
realities into the world. America did not limit itself
in bringing those responsible to justice but persuade
to build a coalition of countries to eliminate the
roots of terrorism at all. A western countries and
many more have contributed their unconditional support
to the American-led military action against
Afghanistan’s Taliban regime sheltering the
international terrorism, but few like China and Russia
have sought in using the international struggle
against terrorism as a pretend in solving its own
domestic problems. For instance on news distributed by
BBC and Douwei agency on September 18, the spokesman
for the Chinese Ministry of External Affairs Zhu Bang
Zao have stated that “America should except and
understand the need of military action of China
against Moslems separatist in Xinjiang”, together with
this he added the China will support American military
actions on this condition. Moreover there were
meetings with the other American officials on
September 19. The Chinese ambassador to US He Ya Fi
have said mention the existence of the Usama Bin
Laden’s links with Xinjiang Moslem separatists and as
the proof of it have said that Taliban shelters Uyghur
on its territory. It is obvious that China uses the
struggle against the international terrorism led by
West to link its muslim population in Xinjiang, which
strives for its independence from China, and trying to
use the latest events as an excuse to intensify its
oppression against Eastern Turkistan’s Uyghur.
The use as a pretend of fight with “international
terrorism” is not a new theme as it was already
initiated by China in organizing the “Shanghai Five”
in 1996 (nowadays renamed as “Shanghai Forum”). For
the last six years Chinese authorities have used “terrorism”,
“separatism”, “religious extremism” as a cloak to
limit the influence of Uyghurs in Central Asia and
have succeeded to oppress uyghur in Russia and in
Central Asia.
And now by appealing to the most powerful and
democratic country in the world America to not
intervene in Uyghur affairs, china is trying to
achieve its dream of keeping Eastern Turkistan under
its control forever.
But in contrary, western Countries know the essential
and crucial differences between international
terrorism and the struggle for self-determination and
freedom. They know that Uyghur are muslim, but in
contrary of Chinese claim that this is a “Moslem
separatist movement” this movement is a struggle of
muslim Uyghur against Chinese oppression for the
national liberty.
It is true that there are a few Uyghur remain in
Taliban controlled areas of Afghanistan, but it is not
true they have relationship with Bin Laden or any
terrorist group as Chinese Authorities claiming. They
are remaining in Afgahnistan not for the purposes some
Arabs, Pakistani and other mujahid fighters might be,
but because they have fled initially to Central Asia
and Pakistan in the last 5-6 years from the political
persecutions and had asked a political asylum there.
But, because these countries were followed Chinese
pressure and not only denied in granting asylum but
also even deported some Uyghur to China where they
were immediately executed. And international human
rights organization did not protest at that time.
Under such conditions some Uyghur have successeded in
getting an access to the west while those who left had
no choice but fled to Afghanistan, because this
country was the only one in Central Asia which was not
giving back political refugees to China.
The fact of Uyghurs participating the military
training camps of Taliban in Afghanistan is explained
by the fact of treats from Taliban regime, and have
not support Chinese claim of Uyghur links to any of
afghan political or terrorist group.
It is need to be mentioned that if Western Democratic
societies had paid enough attention to the case of
Uyghur forcefully deported back to China at that time,
many of Uyghur youth were not be involved in
meaningless fights and were not be labeled as
“international terrorist” as it is now they are.
And even now, those political Uyghur refugees in
Central Asia, Afghanistan and Pakistan facing a death
treat can be saved if the much needed help will be
provided to them.!
And indeed, America understands of the need of
fighting with the roots of the terrorism as the main
source of the treat to the global security and
therefore the world community has rapidly joined in
its action against the terrorism.
But we have to keep in mind by eliminating separate
terrorists, terrorist groups or regime’s harboring
them will not eliminate the roots of the problem
itself. To totally eliminate such treat or at least to
limit it, we should investigate the causes of the
terrorist activities and their origin.
Even if the sources for terrorism are different, one
of the main is the existence of the current
colonialism, the existence of the oppressed nations
under the authoritarian regimes trying to eliminate
the rights for the national liberation and
self-determination and the ignorance of the world
community to these issues.
For instance, as an example we can illustrate the case
of oppression lead by Israel against Palestinians and
Russia against Chechens, the situation of Kashmir in
India and Uyghurs in China. Despite of the peaceful
and lawful demands for its independence of Chechens
and Palestinians, Israel and Russian did not allow
this to be happened, and the world community by
chasing its own ambitions ignored to help oppressed
nations. As the result the Palestinian terrorism
evolved. And some of Chechen fighters went on Russia
to seek revenge from it. We can observe that the
situation in Eastern Turkistan is developing in the
same path. If Chinese authorities will continue its
oppressive policy in Eastern Turkistan and the world
community will keep ignoring the case of Uyghur people,
than that activist of liberation movement might turn
into the terrorist’s activities indeed!
Therefore the policies undertaken by Russia and China
itself should be classified as terrorist one and the
source of bringing the terrorism, those responsible
should be punish and nations oppressed should be
helped. By this only the terrorism but even the source
of terrorism will be eliminated!
