36 Uighurs Sentenced In Ili Prefecture [East Turkistan Information Center, 6/21/01] The middle rank court of Ili Prefecture held a meeting on the cases of 36 Uighurs on June 19 in the framework of the "hard strike" campaign.The court sentenced a young Uighur, Abduqadir Hemit, to death for "providing foreign enemies with guns and grenades". Other 35 Uighurs were given various terms of imprisonment.
