Chinese Imprisoned For Supporting Uighurs Right For Self-Determination East Turkistan Information Center, 06/18/01 According to our correspondent in East Turkistan, Liu
Wei Fang, a Chinese resident of East Turkistan, was recently arrested for advocating democracy in China and supporting the right for self-determination of the Uighurs. He was recently sentenced by the intermediate court of Bingtuan's 9th division to 3 years in prison and deprived of political rights for one year for "sympathizing Uighur separatists". Liu
