Chinese media should be ashamed of
its unstable lies
20.04.2009 01:42
Recently ETIC has learned and has published that
China has launched a 15 days of mass arrest
campaign beginning on July 1st to July the 15th in
East Turkistan. We have also learned that soon
after the mass arrest campaign has started, so
called “chase after three evil forces”
(terrorists, separatists and religious extremist)
special police force division designated for mass
arrest campaign has terrorized Uyghurs in Urumchi
and has attacked Uyghur former prisoners, all
Uyghur civilians who are not Urumchi residents,
and Uyghurs who are seen as suspicious.
July 8, this police force has killed five Uyghurs
who have resisted arrest, injured two and arrested
eight in Urumchi’s “morning light” garden area.
Police did not disclose the reasons for which
these Uyghurs had been attacked, but one of the
official Chinese web sites, Tianshan news net and
official Chinese media: Urumchi Evening News wrote
the following immediately after the incident: “The
Urumchi city police has arrested a group of
suspect criminals in the “Morning Light” area,
they were confronted with violent resistance, have
killed five people, injured two and arrested
eight. A certain number of knives has been seized.
“Three of the suspects were accused of breaking in
to a beauty salon with knives and injuring the
owner, on May 23, the report said. No other
information has been provided as to why all of
them were arrested while there are only three
suspects, and why the others were killed.
After these news have spread to the foreign media,
the violence of the Chinese police officers has
shocked the world. The Chinese media took
immediate media coverage to find an excuse for the
“chase three evil forces” special police
division’s violent actions, and Xinhua news agency
issued an article in English, giving explanation
to the international community. It said that
special police forces officers have found a group
of 15 people gathered in a room that have resisted
arrests, used knives, and shouted slogans like
“sacrifices for Allah”.
Once again, yesterday, on July 12, Tianshan net
has added a story saying that these 15 people,
including five women, belong to a jihad training
organization and wrote: “According to the reports,
and the initial police interrogation, the arrested
criminal suspects were called to participate in a
jihad training organization. The women called
themselves the “sister holy war”, their aim being
to kill Han (infidels), in order to establish
their own “Caliphate” state.
However, no matter how hard the Chinese media
tries to make the story sound credible, and turn
it into a conflict against the terrorist
militants, the lack of evidence proving the
existence of the jihad training turns it to
ridicule.
Those young Uighurs were only equipped with
knives. It is hard to believe that a group of
people could believe that they could successfully
fight billions of Chinese people and establish a
“caliphate” with knives.
“China hasn’t kept its promise, given to the world
in 2001, when the Olympic torch was handed over to
China”. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the media
would convey whatever information that the Chinese
government finds to be suitable for its own
purposes, and not the truth, said Abdujelil
Karakash, President of ETIC.
It is very normal for Uighurs living in Urumchi to
share an apartment. When Uighur farmers were
deprived of their property by the Chinese
Government, they were forced to move to the cities
to look for menial jobs. For financial
limitations, they lived together and shared the
rent. According to several unofficial sources in
East Turkistan, the possibility of these people
being young Uighur farmers looking for employment
in Urumchi is very high; the women could be
visiting girlfriends.
Although the Chinese Government has arrested many
innocent Uighurs, suspecting them of terrorism,
and the media has supported that idea, by trying
to link Uighurs with some international terrorist
organizations, not one terrorist incident has been
reported that would be supported by evidence
linking Uighurs with any international terrorist
organization..
