Excuse of Olympic security: second
period of strike hard campaign in Urumchi
According to Urumchi news gazette report in July
9, Director of the public security bureau of the
Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region and member of
the Urumchi city party standing committee, party
secretary of the Urumqi City Public Security
Bureau, Chen Zhuang officially issued the order of
second period of Olympic security mobilization
campaign. According to the report, first period of
the Olympic security mobilization campaign,
Chinese security forces arrested many people and
destroyed five so called terrorist group. Chengang
urged again the police forces to take urgent
action for the Olympic security and crack down any
suspected object no matter how small its .
According to statistics published in Urumchi
evening news gazette, from January to the June in
this year, “chase three eveil forces( terorsts ,separasts
andreligousextreamst)” police organization that
consisted with 66 police officer, destroyed five
terrorist groups, arrested 82 suspects ,destroyed
41 private teaching places that designed to teach”
Qur’an”. Cracked down16 Falungong cases and
arrested 25 suspects, destroyed seven Fa lon gong
propaganda materials.
It is unclear that how many innocent people going
to be victimized again with the exuse of Olympic
security in the second period of strike hard
campaign.
