According to news based on Chinese government website Tian shan news net, in july 5^th ,  so called Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region tourism bureau party secretary Chi Chong Ching  said in this week  “  Traveling Xinjiang ( East Turkistan) is very safe . Society is very stable in here and economy developed, rich of tourism resources waiting for domestic and foreign tourists.”

However, Chinese ministry of public security spokesman Wu He Ping said in March 2008 that they have successfully captured 10 terrorist gang chieftain lead by Haji Mehmet from January 4, 2008 to 11^th In East Turkistan .

65 people in East Turkistan are going to be convicted on charges related to the Olympic Games by the Chinese government . At least 20 of these Uyghurs reportedly face the death penalty in soon, according to Hong Kong based Information center for Human Rights and Democracy.
