According to Khotan daily gazette, Khotan - Kashkar railway construction ceremony held in Khotan yesterday July third. this railway track along the southern age of Teklimakan desert and pass ten counties and cities such as Khotan, Yengisar , Yerkent, Aktagh, Karghiliq that Uyghurs populated densely. The Chinese government invested 4.64 billion Yuen for this project. Railway length is 487 km long and planned to complete in two years. It was the part of the western development project that aimed to bring millions of Han Chinese immigration to East Turkistan. Although , Chinese official media are congratulating the project and propagandize as an development, Uyghurs seen the project as an another disaster that can accelerate China’s demographic expansion. Because Uyghurs never had been benefitted from so called “Western Development Plan” since government investment only focus on exploitation and transfer of natural resources of East Turkistan and large scale of Han Chinese migration.
