CRITISIZE CHINA FOR SLANDERING UYGHUR RESISTANCE
GROUPS
Chinese propaganda: Uyghur terrorists planned to
wreck Olympics
Chinese ministry of public security spokesman Wu He
Ping said, from January 4, 2008 to 11th, under the
direct lead of Ministry of Public Security's , the
Xinjiang public security uncover the East Turkestan
Islamic Movement (ETIM), which is listed by the United
Nations and the United States as a terrorist
organization. Wu said that they successfully captured
10 terrorist gang chieftain lead by Hajii maimaiti.
Uyghurs in East Turkistan are suffering under the
aggressive Chinese regime, since they have been
colonized by China in 1949. Any resistance of Uyghurs
was ruthlessly cracked down and Uyghur resistance
groups labeled as a terrorist. ETIM was one of the
Uyghur resistance groups against the China, after the
September 11, 2001 terror attacks, ETIM is listed as a
terrorist group by the United Nations and United
States to gain the China’s help so -called “war on
terror”
There is a lot skepticism over whether China is drive
up terror threat to justify crack down on Uyghurs in
East Turkistan, as the Chinese government claim
Uyghurs each time as a terror threat but could not
show any evidences. They also refused the Uyghur
political leader Rabiye Kadeer’s request that allow
independent outside commission, such as a delegation
from the United Nations to investigate alleged
terrorist activities in East Turkistan and independent
scrutiny of any evidence they have for the claims they
are making .
Uyghurs organizations including East Turkistan
Information Center condemns China’s intend to link
2008 Olympics with Uyghur movement in order to find
excuse to crack down innocent Uyghurs and prevent
western journalist into East Turkistan as well.
“We boycott Olympics and we don’t think China is
qualified to hold Olympic torch, Because China had
broken its promises and intensified its persecution of
Uyghur people. Forced labor, removing young Uyghur
girls from their homeland, executing Uyghur political
prisoners, arrest and torture, All of such disasters
are performed by the Chinese government in East
Turkistan and international community should go and
see what China hiding from the world” said Abdujelil
Karakash, president of East Turkistan Information
Center.
“it is so easy for China to bring the Islamic
terrorism as an excuse, create fake story and put
slanders on Uyghurs to justify its repressive colonial
regime .if that is the good excuse for them, why we
have to choose the way which can help enhance their
excuse? Uyghurs are not that stupid” said young Uyghur
men who recently escaped to Kazakstan.
East Turkistan Information Center confirmed that China
recently start nation wide crack down campaign in east
Turkistan and arrested unknown number of Uyghurs. Just
yesterday night, April 9, dozens of young Uyghur men
and women were arrested in Gulja city Yengi yer
county, Ayding village with the charge of gathering
together playing “ Meshrep”.
“Meshrep” was Uyghur cultural event designed to
perform Uyghur culture and ethics which has been
forbidden to play since 1997 , Gulja February incident
To veiled the arbitrary arrest in East Turkistan,
China trying to intensify it’s “propagandize,” the
justification of crack down on Uyghurs.
"The violent terrorist group planned to kidnap foreign
journalists, tourists, and athletes during the Beijing
Olympics and, by creating an international impact, to
sabotage the Beijing Olympics," said Ministry of
Public Security spokesman Wu Heping to magnifies the
terror threat in East Turkistan.
Abdujelil Karakash, expressed that he feel ridiculous
about what Wu He Ping said : “ Uyghurs will not attack
western journalist and athletes! This is totally
Chinese propaganda. Uyhgurs don’t want to create any
bad image, as they desperately need friends and
supporters in this world. They understand very well
what kind international impact they need and they know
very well who the enemies are”.
East Turkistan Information Center learned that even if
there has been existence of some organized resistance
groups against the Chinese rule, and planned to attack
Chinese government buildings and military bases as
Chinese news sources said, they would be admires of
the Uyghurs, as Uyghurs considered them as a freedom
fighters, not a terrorist.
It is very obvious that Chinese government ruthlessly
cracked down on opponent expression no matter how
peaceful they are, and did not give them any chance to
bring their voices with peaceful means. if there is
any kind violent planning activities by the Uyghur
resistance groups, it would be created by long
aggressive oppression of China on East Turkistan. .
