Uygurs to held demonstration in the Chinese City of Shenzhen
According to the information received by "Eastern Turkestan Information Center" directly from Shenzhen, on the 21st of March more than 100 Uygurs held a demonstration in the city of Shenzhen to be know as an open economic zone to protest against hardly beating by police of the two innocent Uygurs, taking the injured Uygurs they went towards the building of the city administration. Because this was the first time demonstration of the Uygurs in Shenzhen the local people followed the demonstrators to the city administration building. Because of the demonstration the streets of the city were paralyzed for several hours. Having known about the demonstrators approaching to its building the Shenzhen administration locked the doors of the building and gathered a lot of policemen. The policemen broke up those Chinese who watched the protestors and blocked the streets on which the Uygurs were going. Seeing that the were going peacefully the leaders of the city administration had to open the door and meet the protestors. They also had to promise to punish those policemen beating up the two Uygurs. The demonstration that began at 12.20 p.m. came to ist close at about 5.00 p.m. According to "Eastern Turkestan Information Center", the demonstration held in Shenzhen had the following background: on the 20th of February when two Uygurs -Hesen and Abliz, were walking in the evening market of Shiangzisun the guards of the market began to drive away them from that place. When the Uygurs feeling insulted tried to protest they were catch by more than 10 policemen and beaten up. These Uygurs were hardly injured, their arms and legs were broken, and they were brought to hospital. Though the Uygurs complained to the governmental organs, but there was no response from them. On the 21st of March more than 100 Uygurs came to hospital to see the injured and decided to hold protest demonstration. That is why they took those two Uygurs Hesen and Abliz and the enlarged pictures of their wounds and went picket the governmental building. At the same time another reason for the demonstration was that the Uygur traders were always beaten and insulted by the Chinese policemen without reason Information about this demonstration of the Uygurs in Shenzhen was broadly distributed by the Chinese mass media inside the country and abroad .
