Troubles happened to a Uygur political prisoner
Troubles happened to a young Uygur by name Yasin Kevir show how the Chinese Communist authorities violate the human rights of the people in Eastern Turkestan, as well as the unprecedented in the history humiliation that the Uygur people experience nowadays. According to the information gained by “Eastern Turkestan Information Center” , on June 2000 a young Uygur man Yasin Kivir living in the village 4 of Chumpaq district, Bugur region, has been arrested by the Chinese authorities just for his normal religious activities. He was accused in “illegal religious activities”. After being detained in jail for 3 months the Chinese authorities released him after imposing a fine of 3,000 yuan on his father. When this young man came back home he was taken to the office of the party secretary who forced him to drink alcohol. The party secretary threaten him by saying: “Hence you must drink alcohol, do not go to the Friday worship, call others to stop worshiping, otherwise you will be thrown to jail again”. This is only one example of wide spread actions of the Chinese authorities
undertaken towards the people of Eastern Turkestan to force them to cease their religious activities. For this purpose the governmental organs use various methods as imprisonment, tortures, threat, huge fines etc.
