Blue book and economic prosperity of
East Turkistan

2008-12-24

The Xinjiang academy of social science issued the blue book which titled “2008-2009 Year Xinjiang Economic society Situation Analysis and Forecast" in December 23. The blue book presented rail road construction as a most significant big spots as a success of Economy of East Turkistan since it was the main apparatus of achieving transportation of Han Chinese migration into East Turkistan and transferring natural resources into Han Chinese provinces. The blue book also mentioned the enormous exploitation of oil, natural gas, coal and other natural resources that transferred to inland Chinese provinces as a success of economy of so called “Xinjiang”

Although the blue book is trying to highlight economic prosperity of East Turkistan in 2008, but it couldn’t present any evidence of prosperity of East Turkistan and could not hide the facts that East Turkistan is the main source of prosperity of China. For example, according to the blue book, beef prices were raised rapidly in East Turkistan in 2008 and reached 30 Yuan for each kg. The primary factor of rise of food prices in East Turkistan and rise of CPI was caused by unbalanced product supply and demand since product of East Turkistan was transferred to inland China.

However, Chinese government presented all economic oppression and depleted natural resources as an economic prosperity of East Turkistan, despite the fact of economic loss of East Turkistan that Chinese government proved in their blue book itself..
