160 UYGHUR KIDS JAILED IN CHINA

After the recent resistant attack of the Uyghur freedom fighters, Chinese government intensified its heavy pressure in the region. Large scale of “cleaning up” campaign launched again to continue mass arrest in East Turkistan. 160 uyghur kids between age 8 to 14 were arrested in this month in inland China. These kids were send to inland China Hui ( tungan) Muslim schools to study Kur’an by their parents, since Chinese government ban all religious study in East Turkistan.

According to our sources, only 10 of these kids were released after parents paid 20,000 Yuan heavy fine for each of them. 150 kids were returned to east Turkistan and jailed in Bajahu prison in Urumchi in present.
Police forces said that those kids will be held in jail until the age of 16 in order to be charged with illegal religious studies.

“Religious study of Hui Muslim is not banned in China, since they don’t have political problems and they are very similar with Han Chinese except Islamic religion. So some Uyghur parents try to send their kids to schools of Hui Muslims to educate them with Islamic religion” said Mehbube who do not want to disclose her real name over the phone conversation.

Since the beginning of the 1990s, the Chinese government focused on tightening the control and restrictions on religious freedom in East Turkestan including ban and close religious schools opened by Uyghurs and arrest of teachers and students
