Chechen New
President Thanks Poland for Condemning Mashkadov's
Assassination
PRESS RELEASE
The Hague, 21 March 2005
Statement of The President of Chechen Republic of
Ichkerya Abdul-Halim Sadulaev to the people of Europe
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
On behalf of all Chechen people, I express sincere
words of gratitude to the people of European countries,
their independent policies for their civic courage as
well as the encouragement they have shown in hard days
for the Chechen State, which were connected with the
loss of our President Aslan Maskhadov, may Allah take
pity on him!
We became witnesses of mass condemnation all over the
world, the mean act of terrorism carried out by the
Russian special forces against the legitimate Head of
the Chechen Republic Ichkerya, who constantly called
on Moscow to pursue peace, and as a result he gave his
life, to try and stop the next genocide of the Chechen
people. Almost in all countries of Europe: Austria,
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland,
Lithuania, Turkey, France, Sweden, Estonia and others,
mass rallies and demonstrations against the
arbitrariness of the Russian army in the territory of
the ChRI were organized.
You have truly rescued the face of Free Europe soiled
by your official leaderships, who became hostages of
the criminal business relationships with the Kremlin
regime. It gives us hope that the healthy humanistic
forces of the Old World, which were not tainted by
relations with the terrorist top of Russia in the
Kremlin, will find strength and courage to resolve
obvious spiritual and political crisis for the benefit
of freedom and human values in the European continent.
In this connection, I want to especially note the
activity of the Polish people and their political
leadership. Poland is the unique country in the world,
which leaders have officially condemned the act of
terrorism against the elected and internationally
recognized ChRI President Aslan Maskhadov.
We, Chechens, are proud of our friendship with the
great Polish people, and we express to them our
gratitude for their encouragement in the struggle
against the Russian invaders.
We are also grateful to the President of Poland and
its Members of the Parliament for perpetuating the
symbol of the freedom for the Chechen people - the
first President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkerya,
Dzhohar Dudaev, also the victim of hands of the
Kremlin executioners – and naming one of streets of
Warsaw after Dzhohar Dudaev. In this way, you have
entered his name in history of the heroic struggle of
the Polish people, who, like the Chechen people, have
a centuries-old experience of struggle for freedom and
independence from the Russian empire.
May Supreme Allah bless all the people of goodwill,
who are opposing disbelief and hypocrisy! May God help
us to win evil and injustice on this guilty planet!
Amen!
Abdul-Halim Sadulaev,
The president of the Chechen Republic Ichkerya
