According to our sources the
Chinese regime recently started mass searches in Kashgar
region on April 4 under the pretext of “fighting
religious extremism (vahhabism). The policemen arrested
arbitrarily many young people blaming them of “vahhabite
activities”.
a ) New Developments in “Ideological Movement” in
Eastern Turkistan
On April 12 the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region
called up a meeting dedicated to the “fight in the
ideological front against ethnic separatists”. Chief
Secretary of the Political Committee Abliz Hoshur gave a
speech. In his report he said: ”strengthening of the
ideological fight against ethnic nationalist separatism
is a main condition of the uniting the people around the
Party and it is the long term objective of the Xinjiang
region”.
b ) Exhibition of “Ideological Struggle with Ethnic
Separatism”.
The Chinese authorities organized an exhibition on March
20, which is dedicated to “ideological struggle against
nationalist separatists”. It opened in Urumchi on April
12 in Urumchi in the “people’s library”. The exhibition
was planned to work everyday from 10 a.m. to 17 p.m.
However, because virtually no one among the local
population was interested in visiting it, the working
hours were shortened until 13.30 p.m. The exhibition
first was opened in Ili region in March.
c ) Ideological Struggle and Its Influence on
Children
The growing to the level of paranoia “ideological fight
against ethnic separatism” in Eastern Turkistan reached
now primary schoolchildren. On April 12 over 2000
schoolchildren from the 22nd, 1st and other primary
schools to the cemetery of Communist revolutionists. The
children had to swear “loyalty to the Party”.
d ) 20 Thousand People Get Cancer Disease in Eastern
Turkistan Every Year
The ecological situation has worsened drastically in
Eastern Turkistan. Every year about 20 thousand people
get the cancer disease. Some scientists relate the
increasing number of cancer patients to the atomic bomb
testing led in Eastern Turkistan by the Chinese regime
since 1964.
