Anti-Chinese leaflets have been distributed in Ili area
According to the information gained by "Eastern Turkestan Information Center", recently in Ili area there have been distributed leaflets blaming Chinese authorities in bloody suppression of the democratic movement in Beijing in 1989 and terrible extermination of the Uygurs in Kuljia on February 5, 1997. The leaflets distributed by unknown persons have put the local authorities to trouble. According to the earliest information about these events, the Chinese police suspected that the leaflets were brought from America and seriously investigated it.
2. Ili area meets difficulties in education system
according to "Eastern Turkestan Information Center", being victims of the Chinese Communist authorities' campaign of "scattering" aimed at persecution of the ethnic minorities' teachers numerous Uygur teacher in Ili district began protesting the Chinese authorities by getting together in front of the educational administrative offices of different degrees. Because of these actions the situation in Ili is getting worse and serious. Many young Uygur teachers are told to be sent by the Chinese authorities to the remote parts in order to clean up the education structures. As a result, numerous Uygur teachers had to leave their native places and their homes and also met difficulties in teaching process. |
