Pakistan may arrest more Uyghurs again to extradited to China

2009-06-15

In June 12, Pakistani Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid discussed with Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhao hui about regional security issues and Pakistan expressed its full support against the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) to assure Beijing’s demand, the Daily times said.

Recently nine Uyghurs were extradited from Pakistan and facing execution in Chinese prisons. Beijing claimed these nine Uyghurs were member of ETIM, but the ETIM, A Uyghur freedom fighter organization that the Chinese authorities have labeled a terrorist organization says these nine Uyghur men extradited from Pakistan to China aren’t linked to the ETIM.

East Turkistan Information Center (ETIC) learned that there are some Uyghurs in Pakistan to study Islamic religion since there are no religious freedoms in East Turkistan and there are also many Uyghurs in Pakistan who went there to do small business because of economical discrimination in East Turkistan.

“With the excuse of regional security issues, government of Pakistan is selling innocent Uyghurs to China it is nothing except helping China’s colonial regime in East Turkistan and acceleration of ethnic cleansing on Uyghurs.”Said Mr.Karakash, the president of ETIC.

Although international human rights groups such as Freedom House urged Pakistan and other countries to reject China’s use of fake terrorism charges and protect Uyghurs from persecution according to international law, government of Pakistan totally ignored the international law and intensified its support to China. After the conversation of Tarq Majid and Luo Zhao Hui , Pakistan may arrest more Uyghurs again without any reason to extradite to China. Some Uyghur researchers predicting that Pakistan may already extradited some Uyghurs to China. it is unknown that how many Uyghurs were extradited secretly, since Pakistan is very closely collaborating with it fascist partner China.
