Natural Gas of Tarim oil field
Benefitted 300 million Han Chinese Residents up to now

Chinese government planned to reach annual
natural gas production of Tarim oil and natural
gas field 50million tons in 2020. Current
discovered natural gas reserve in Tarim oil field
is 30 billion tons. During the past 5 years, the
natural gas transported from Tarim Basin has
benefited more than 300 million Chinese residents
in over 80 large and medium sized cities of 14
provinces inland China. Up to March 28th, this
year, Petro China Tarim Oilfield Company has
accumulatively sent 48.6 billion cubic meters of
natural gas to the west-east natural gas pipeline
project. As a result, people in East Turkistan
suffered with gas shortage and expensive gas
prices. Following the Han Chinese migration and
population increase of East Turkistan, the gas
shortage problem became the serious issue for Han
Chinese people as well. Although some of communist
party members raised the issue in Congressional
meeting of the Chinese communist party in last
year, Chinese government not only did not give any
concern for needs of the people in the region, but
also planned to accelerate transportation of oil
and gas from East Turkistan to inland China.
