Islam is under the threat in East
Turkistan
So called Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous regional
government and Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous census
recently published the book “year of 2008 in
Xinjiang”. According to this book East Turkistan
has total 23 thousand 900 mosque s, but most of
them are very small mosques that only for 50 or
60 people. More than 29 thousand religious
personnel and 1800 government trained imams are
currently working in those mosques. Although
imams and religious staffs had special train
from the communist government in order to
distort Islam for the benefit of the government,
Chinese government still have strict restriction
for those mosques. For example, ETIC learned
that following people are not allowed to go
mosque in East Turkistan:
1. Members of the Chinese Communist Party
2. Students and people under 18
3. Government workers and retired government
workers
4. Cadres of the villages and counties
5. Women
According to this information, it is obvious
that Chinese government’s atheist ideology
mainly target the women and young generation of
Uyghurs under 18 to gradually eradicate the
Islam from East Turkistan..
