Natural gas reserve surpassed 100
billion cubic meter in Jungar Basin

MAccording to Tianshan news net in December 15,
Chinese National Reserves Committee assessed and
officially confirmed that Junggar basin natural
gas reserve surpassed 100 billion cubic meters.
The Junggar Basin is the main battlefield of
natural gas and oil exploration of East Turkistan.
So called Xinjiang oil field Company estimated
that this year’s production of natural gas may
surpass 3,380,000,000 cubic meters. “Only 20% of
this natural gas used to be exported to inland
China, since it could not satisfy industry and
inhabitants energy demand in north Xinjiang “the
Chinese official media said. Chinese government is
planning to produce 10 billion cubic meters
natural gas from Jungar basin rich natural gas
resources every year and predicting that it will
solve gas shortage problems of North Xinjiang in
50 years. So called North Xinjiang is mainly
populated with Han Chinese immigrants.
