Classic area in kashgar city will be destroyed by
Chinese government with the excuse of development
“Starting February 25 all the classic and tourstic
houses around the heytka mosque will be destroyed”
said one of the residents in that aria by telephone.
He said that those classic houses might be complately
destroyed until June.
In october , 2002 while I was traveling Kashgar city ,
sad uighurs except my interview and said “ the
provincial government received resolution regarding
Kashgar’s new map from beijing last year . They would
like to destroy all of the classic area in kashgar
with the excuse of development and they want to bring
more Chinese immigrants. it will destroy Kashgar’s
antique style and culture if they destroy those houses
; Kashgar not will be Kashgar anymore . Two years ago
the government destroyed some houses outside Kashgar
city with building train staion reason and made
residents move to barren area without compansation.
People complain about that and went to Beijing to
accuse provincail government. Beijing returns them
with nice promice, but after they came back, all of
them arrested with reason of “your calim is illigal”
those people are still in the prison right now. So
this time maight be government does not want to make
more problems by destroying these classic houses
around the Heytka mosque without compansation and and
they are waiting until they are ready to give
compansation. But they will be destroyed soon….”
Classic houses should be preserved, not only because
of their artistic axcelence but also of their symbolic
importance. right now national strategy of the chinese
government in Est turkistan is wipe out uyghurs it is
including secret violence, book burning, destroying
torndown calssic cities , and abusing uighur language,
anything that could show uighurs ethnic cultural
historical style .Chinese government despite the basic
principles of the modern international law still
proseeding harsh illigal colonial rule in East
Turkistan.
