According to the information
gathered by the Eastern Turkistan Information Center
from Uighur Homeland, in January this year the meeting
of the “ Autonomous province party committee” has been
called in Urumchi. This meeting followed the
all-national meeting in Beijing which “discussed state
issues”. The main demand of the meeting in Urumchi was
to “seriously learn Chairman Jiang Zemin’s works”.
The secretary of the Autonomous province party committee”
Wang Lequan gave a speech and mentioned that independent
forces of Eastern Turkistan fight against Chinese rule
would never stop and that this trend should always be
suppressed.
Wang Lequan said to the deputies that “ our party has
always struggled with the separatism in Xinjiang. This
fight has never stopped. We should keep in mind that in
the field of ideology the separatists taking advantage
of some mistakes in cultural affairs they are attacking
our party’s national and religious policies. We should
not overlook this tendency”.
Wang Lequan demanded that every party committee, every
agency to learn the spirit of religious affairs in the
country and to develop understanding for long term
objectives of stable developed religious services to
population.
According to news gathered by Eastern Turkistan
Information center from the homeland, events of
September 11 in the USA , Chinese authorities took a
chance to strengthen its oppression against religion.
Some foreign observers mention that Chinese government
makes every effort to associate the global Islamic
terrorism with decent Uighurs practicing their religion.
Recently the “national religious conference” called in
Beijing had worked out secretly the policies of
eradicating Islamic affiliations of Uighurs.
We will soon witness implementation of these policies in
Eastern Turkistan along with the oppressive regimes’
even more brutal actions against Uighur Muslims.
The Eastern Turkistan Information center points out the
national liberation movement in Eastern Turkistan
focuses in its activities on three corner stones:
First, -- gaining religious freedom
Second – gaining national independence,
Third – gaining economic independence and prosperity
The religious freedom is viewed as the first among top
priorities of Uighurs. The Chinese regime is oppressing
the most important right of Uighurs, it will never stop
acting this way, it will always attempt to deprive
Uighurs of religious freedom. These brutal policies
might well lead in future in breaking violent conflicts
and instability in Eastern Turkistan and overall in
Central Asia.
