Two young Uyghurs sentenced to death.

According to the information obtained by telephone, Chinese authorities conducted a secret trial on 12 young Uyghurs in Qorghas, Ghulja province, on January 16, and convicted 2 of them to death, 10 others were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 10 to 18 years.

The Uyghurs sentenced to death are:

  1. Abdushukur Nurullah. Was born in Ghulja in 1965. Graduated from Chemistry Department of Ili Teacher’s College in 1987. Works as a chemistry teacher in secondary school No. 1 in Qorghas. Was given death penalty for making explosive powder.
  2. Perhat Mollahun. Was born in 1963. Graduated from Math Department of Xinjiang University in 1985. Works as a teacher in top school in Lengge 5 village, Qorghas district. Was sentenced to death after 2 years of delay.

The executions are postponed because of Roziheyt holiday.
