Revenge for me!
Editorial note :
This is the translation of an original letter from
one young Uyghur man who was arrested by Chinese
police, suspected of supporting independence for
East Turkestan, his portrait of the secrets inside
Chinese prison. Reading his letter we can see
fascism and inhumane beings inside China, and we can
see how people are treated.
As far as I understand , in East Turkestan has a
prison in 145 places plus country, "Re-education
Through Labor camps" in 30 places. All together,
they have a population of 250,000 prisoners, only
political prisoners is 150,000.
Example: Frome Karakash, Purchachi country, Topak
Achti village , Tursun. Ahun Dawaz and Imin Dawaz
arrested in 91 with the charge that "trying to made
helicopter" and sentence of 15 years imprisonment
for each of them. Presently they are forced to work
in "Re-education Through Labor Camp" in Karahan Camp
at the Keriye. Same as about a thousand of non
guilty Uyghur people stay in prison, many of them
sentenced to many years imprisonment with charges
like : "digging mountain searching gold" "find out
ruby from river hiding for himself." Every year, 20
to 30 prisoner in the big prison , 5 to 10 person in
the small prison get the death penalty. In East
Turkestan only in Urumqi, Lidawan prison 20 to 30
political prisoners have been secretly killed by
Chinese police every month because of arbitrary
torture and ill treatment methods like: "starving
kill style" ," electric shocks( applied all over the
body), kill ling style "hanging tortured killing
style", after that they secretly buried the body at
night and next day 8-10 police go to the prisoner's
family, questioning them and say: "your son has run
away from prison , where is he hiding ?" Like that
they would like try to hide their fascist face. I
would like to give some example about that:
Ekrem Tursun from Chimen Bag of Choybulung village
in Shayar. The 24 year old was arrested by Chinese
police in February of 1996, because of studying the
Koran in Chagilik secret religion school. I saw him
with my own eyes when Chinese police brought him to
our prison I could not recognize his face, because
everywhere it was swollen and bleeding, already cut
both hands and broken two legs and they put it him
single cell beside our cell. After two days, around
the midnight to 2 o’clock we began hearing heavy
noise like something moving and walking from his
cell. The next day we heard the news about Ekrem
Tursun ran away, but this is impossible because he
couldn’t.
Niyaz Abdulla from Qumboy village of Yilanchi in
Toksun 22 years old, he was studied Koran in Turpan
from Shahimerdan Hoja (Muslim teacher), reported
detained for "trying to explode Toksun police office"
April of 1997 they brought him to our prison and put
it him in a single cell until June. They beat and
tortured him everyday but he still said: I don’t
know what a bomb is, I have never seen things like
that in my life, that is not fair for me! I just
studied a few poems from the Koran. Accept that I
didn’t do anything, that is not fair for me ! I even
saw him everyday talking with himself like this and
never stop, but they didn’t believe him, finally
they starved him to death and buried his body one
night. After we heard from new prisoners who knew
Niyaz Abdulla’s family, how Chinese police spread
public news about Niyaz Abdulla’s escape and how
they forced his family to look for him.
In that prison, I saw with my own eyes how Chinese
police killed non guilty young Uyghur people with
suspicion of connections with the independence
movement, and the reasons "doesn’t believe communist
and believe in God"
Even I saw with my own eyes young boy name is Keyum
Turdi coming from Kuchar couldn’t urinate and
eventually died, because interrogators inserted
shish (for shish kavab) into his penis, causing
extreme pain and bleeding, his genitals were very
swollen and became dark blue. He bled to death. If I
didn’t see that, maybe I can’t believe that too
because like this inhuman treatment is difficult to
imagine for humans. In 1998 Urumqi police office
political department’s director, extreme executor
Moydin Sadir who inserted shish into Keyum Turdi’s
penis was killed by someone with a knife, with his
entire family.
We are ten person living 4 meter wide, 5 meter long
cell, in this prison has a 60 cell like this. Each
10 cell make one part, except our part we hear news
about the dead every day from another part because
they change prisoners from one cell to another cell,
one part to another part. Each month they give
enough food to smugglers and murderers, but
political prisoners get one small piece of bread in
the morning and one dish of boiled flour (already
expire date and smells bad)some time even we can’t
get that one too. Tortured like this, prisoners may
believe you can’t find in the world all human beings
are born free and equal. Everybody has human rights,
but for my Uyghur people that is like one beautiful
dream, even animals protected by animals law, but we
never tasted human rights since we were born. If God
wishes we will get freedom one day too. I never lost
this hope and am living with this hope.
As far as I know they have following kind implement
for torture :
Needles inserted into toe nails
Electronic batons
Electric wire for attached to head
Special wire for inserted into the penis.
Pliers for tongue and penis
Heavy stone for inserted between tied hands to
behind
Big and wide wood for put it between two leg(
Chinese call that a gangza).
Special wire for twisted body on the wet flour
Burned and extremely hot metal bed for naked body
Weight of 2 kg metal for 2 finger and neck
Nails on chair
Nails on bed
And has a some kind of methods of torture which I
don’t know the name .
They open green light interrogation rooms for
security of interrogators
Presently Urumchi prisons completely full, because
of named political prisoners they move to Korla
other prisoners, in Urumchi only have a political
prisoners.
Now I would like to tell one of our revolutionary’s
messages like exactly what he told me at the prison
before he dead, his name is Qadir Qari , from
Haliktam village of Kuchar, he was arrested summer
of 1996 because of participating in a prison
incident in Shayar and put him in water prison in
Urumqi Tikquduq. They tortured him with extremely
brutality and he talked about his prison life and
said:
They have a 2 meter longer and 2 meter wider stone
room on the basement. The room fills up with 1 meter
20cm water, every part of prison has a 6 small room
like this, one each person, they tie my one hand
from front to back entered between the two legs and
another one hand from back to front entered between
the two leg and locked. Connect my two legs to 20kg
chain, put it 1cm*15cm neck chain on my neck and
connected this chain to the metal door. Hanging like
this can’t kill me (because they are thinking that
if not install like this we going to enter our head
into the water and suicide). Then they twisted my
body with a little of bit soft rope like leather,
throw to the water. I stayed in that prison 13 days
and everyday they took me up 5 time for food or
change air, at this time they didn’t beat me but
they tortured me with electric shock because if they
beat me and broke the skin, when they inserted us
into the electric water we will going to die .
Every day stay in prison body become like white
noodles in there. I saw 4 person dead in the water.
Night time we sleep standing in the water, each hour
police call our name and ask: are you dead or no? In
that time if we don’t raise our head, the police
give us one more hour penalty. After 13 days they
moved me from water prison to here and started
torturing more brutality, I know right now I'm not
ok, I can’t live long, if you get freedom, please
contact with my mother and father sent to them my
best regards. Just tell them never ever cry for me.
I can’t be relieved, everybody die, difference just
between soon or later. Another thing, send my
messages to all our friends who wants to fight for
freedom :don’t stop the effort for freedom and
independence! God always close to right people, give
a lot of courage and tolerance, if I can’t be
tolerant that I could not take that much torture. I
never regret my acts because I’ll get my prize in
the next world. Truth is our side, God will be with
us!
I would leave this sentence out:
I have two little brother, tell them revenge for me
and for all Uyghur people, tell them don’t be scared!
